COVID-19 Clinical Advice

The after-effects of Coronavirus can vary considerably from person to person. Following recovery from the initial symptoms of Coronavirus, some people report ongoing signs of fatigue – such as breathlessness or muscle aching.

This section provides resources and information for people recovering from Coronavirus. The advice on returning to activity may also be of benefit following other similar viruses.

The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy have put together this short video to help you manage your recovery. The key message is that rest on its own is unlikely to help you move forward and so it is important to balance it with gradually increasing activity.

It is also important to speak to your GP if you feel like your energy levels are not recovering and if activity is making your symptoms worse. It may be that you need to be assessed for Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome (PVFS).

If you do get diagnosed with Post-Viral Fatigue Syndrome, we have put together some useful information for you in this blog: Post-viral Fatigue Following COVID-19
