Vehicle Assessments

A vast majority of our workforce rely on driving as their full-time occupation, whether that be a small city car or a Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV’s), a poor driver set up can lead to discomfort and the development of musculoskeletal (MSK) issues. It is important to ensure vehicles are appropriately set up to individual needs, assisting prevention and the management of pain and discomfort while driving.

How it works?

All of the qualified clinicians attending the assessments are fully ergonomically trained and members of The Association of Chartered Physiotherapists in Occupation Health and Ergonomics (ACPOHE). They will discuss the issues with the individual before spending time in the vehicle to observe posture, seating position and all will be aimed at addressing the musculoskeletal concerns around the current vehicle including associated Manual Handling concerns or issues with entering or exiting the vehicle. Any changes or recommendations to be made in the report.

A full and audited report with photographs will be provided to the client after the assessment, noting any changes that have been made or recommendations that would assist in reducing any symptoms.

Who is it designed for?

The assessment can address musculoskeletal or medical concerns which they experience in their work vehicle via specialist advice. This may be under normal levels of driving or a recent increase due to others being unable to work.
