CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help patients manage their problems by changing the ways in which they think and behave. CBT Therapy falls into Step Three Care in the IPRS Health stepped care model.

IPRS Health provides UK-wide coverage of CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) through our in-house team of CBT Therapists supported by our network of over 1000 fully audited therapists.

Patients can be seen face-to-face or treated virtually.

All our CBT therapists must have at least 3 years of post-graduate experience, be registered with the BABCP and deliver evidence-based treatment at all times, ensuring clinical quality with every referral.

How can CBT help?

CBT can help patients who have moderate to severe of mental health problems including:

  • Depression
  • Generalised Anxiety Disorder
  • Social Phobia
  • Health Anxiety
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD)
  • Panic Disorder
  • Phobias
  • Post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD)

What to expect from CBT

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is a talking therapy that can help patients manage their problems by changing the ways in which they think and behave. CBT helps patients to deal with problems in a positive way by breaking them down into smaller, achievable parts. Therapists will help patients learn how to turn negative patterns into something positive to improve the way they feel. CBT sessions are recommended by the National Institute of Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for moderate to severe mental health difficulties and would be delivered for up to one hour per week.

How IPRS Health CBT works?

Following a Mental Health Assessment, if the patient requires CBT therapy and would like to be treated face to face, they will be referred to a nearby therapist within an average travel distance of just 5 miles. Their first session will be offered to them to take place within 10 working days.

If the patient is treated virtually, the treatment works the exact same way as with face-to-face CBT Treatment with the patient having regular sessions with their therapist completed through either:

  • Telephone Call
  • Video Call
  • Text Therapy
